Irreverent Brides:Unconventional Wedding Dressing

For Reese Witherspoon's wedding to CAA talent manager Jim Toth, the actress (and second-time bride) opted to do things a little differently. Witherspoon said “I do” at her Ojai ranch home in a blush-tone Monique Lhullier corset dress.

The bride looked stunning as usual, and her fresh choice inspired people to look at others who decided to say “I don't” to the traditional white wedding dress and instead wore bold, unconventional dresses for their walk down the aisle.

For her wedding to baseball player Joe DiMaggio, Hollywood legend Marilyn Monroe chose an unconventional fur-collared brown suit, perfect for her city hall ceremony.

Bianca Jagger wears a YSL Le Smoking jacket to her 1971 wedding to Rolling Stones’singer Mick Jagger.

Lauren Santo Domingo couldn't decide on whether to wear long or short, so she did both. After the ceremony and before the party, her close friend Olivier Theyskens cut the dress he designed for her in half.

Gwen Stefani looked pretty and punk in her dip-dyed silk Galliano gown, seen here at her London wedding with Gavin Rossdale.

Inspired by flamenco dancers, Miranda Brooks donned a Spanish felt hat and a ruffled Oscar de la Renta dress embroidered with flowers in honor of her daughters, Poppy and Violette.

Queen of burlesque Dita von Teese added a bit of the boudoir feel to her wedding by choosing a dramatic purple corseted dress by Vivienne Westwood.

Alexander McQueen designed four dresses for Plum Sykes's wedding, but she finally settled on this one with a dramatic train for her special day.
